5 Reasons Why Your Customer Service Sucks

frustrated_client

I figured I would try something new tonight. I’m angry… furious actually. I’m so sick and tired of dealing with companies that just flat out suck when it comes to customer service. Is it really that hard to provide adequate updates for someone? Is it wrong to expect a company to contact you proactively if they break something? Not in my books…

It’s no secret that I have always strived to provide the best customer service possible to anyone I’m assisting. Whether it’s a support ticket online, a PC repair offline or even dealing with my grandma… I always stay in touch, keep proactive and basically bend over backwards to make whomever I’m dealing with feel 100% relaxed, knowing I have things under control at all times. If only this same model could be applied by other companies.

google_webmaster_tools_sitemap

Are you using a Sitemap on your website right now? Do you have it connected with your Google Webmaster Tools account? If you answered no to either of these questions then I suggest you continue reading and I’ll do my best to get you headed in the right direction. I’m still learning about Sitemaps and their benefits but I can vouch for the fact that ever since I began using them, I’ve seen increased search engine traffic, cleaner listings and rapid indexing of new website content.

Top 5 WordPress SEO Plugins – Recommended

top_5_wordpress_seo_plugins

It’s no secret that the more I use WordPress the more I fall in love with it. The versatility and control I have when using WordPress makes doing any website task as simple as possible. However, what really makes WordPress amazing is the community support for Plugins, Widgets and thousands of other customizations. These community supported addons allow people such as myself (I suck at coding) the ability to improve our websites with just a few easy clicks.

I’ve put together a list of my Top 5 WordPress SEO Plugins that I feel would be beneficial for any website owner running WordPress. If you’re not familiar with the term SEO it stands for Search Engine Optimization which refers to how well your website is “optimized” for Google, Yahoo, Bing and all the other search engines on the Internet. Why is SEO optimization important? It’s proven that the more optimized your website, the better your search engine rankings. That would mean more traffic which means more sales. Pretty awesome stuff for free and for 10-20 minutes of your time to setup!

Multiple domain hosting with a dash of unlimited diskspace.

IMG_0843_2_1_4_tonemapped_original

I had a call earlier today from a contact I used to deal with about 4 years ago. His current web hosting plans are coming up for renewal and he was curious about our new company and what we could possibly offer him. I was game for a chat!

About 10 minutes into our little discussion he started asking about multiple domain hosting. He was more intrigued by what it was and how it could benefit him. If you’re not sure what multiple domain hosting is, it’s basically the ability to host multiple websites from a single hosting account. Anyways, back to how it could benefit him. Being the owner of 3 different WordPress blogs he could easily move onto our Enhanced plan and cancel out his 3 separate hosting plans that he has setup with a larger provider. This was going to be easier on his wallet and easier to manage as well!

Website migrations, memcached and roundcube. Exciting!

house-pushing-dolly

Free website migration is one of our main selling features here at EvenDivide. We literally take over EVERY aspect of moving a new clients website and take pride in getting it back online, ERROR FREE. For many of our competitors, this process doesn’t go beyond direct cPanel to cPanel transfers. For us, it’s all about making our new clients happy.

Yesterday we had a new client signup that was a running a Drupal based website with a large name provider. Unfortunately the Drupal website was crawling which made the backup process pretty rough but after some waiting I had the files and .sql backups required for a restore. I uploaded the Drupal backup files to our server, loaded up the sql, modified the config files and a few permissions… VOILA! Client back online. Unfortunately this client has his domain hosted with a registrar that is NOTORIOUSLY slow with DNS changes. However, after about 16 hours the domain was finally pointing to our server. Here’s the response I received today after the new client noticed his website was loading from our server.
